Essential Responsibilities
1. Plan sequence of steps to perform duties.
2. Dismantle machines.
3. Move, assemble and install machinery and equipment.
4. Prepare foundation for machines.
5. Construct additional support if needed.
6. Level and align machines and equipment.
7. Assemble machines; bolt, weld, rivet, and fasten machine to foundation or other structures.
8. Operate various welding, soldering or brazing equipment to assemble machine.
9. Use various precision measuring equipment to check work.
10. Operate hoist, cranes, riggings, dollies and trucks to move equipment from one location to another with proper training.
11. Lubricate machines and equipment.
12. Guide assisting personnel on correct procedures.
13. Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures.
14. Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations.
15. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma with maintenance related courses and three to five years related experience or equivalent education, training and experience as determined by the Grain Division Manager; able to operate various equipment to include welding equipment, forklift, hoists, riggings, and various hand and power tools; have a broad knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, welding techniques and maintenance procedures and practices; can read and interpret documents such as layouts, blueprints, sketches, and a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; speak effectively in one-on-one situations to other employees in the organization; able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and circumference; apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry; solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Employee may perform work in high places; must have good balance; ability to climb a ladder, work from scaffolding or raised platforms, man lifts, etc. The job may require work performed in tight or enclosed areas. The employee must be able to hear and communicate verbally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to drive a large truck or a large truck and trailer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally and momentarily work near moving mechanical parts, may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
